[CG399] - Resculpted Whale

Current iteration of my snake whale. It’s retopologized, unwrapped, and resculpted in zbrush now. I’m planning on refining the tower (which kind of looks like a chest piece as of now), and the engravings on the snake whale’s armor. At least I’m close to getting caught up.

[Team ETA] - The Maid Rig

Hey guys! I've been meaning to post this one in a while, but since my job was jumbled around in my game team, finally I settled on rigging, which is somewhat close to animation, the subject that I would like to one day do. This is one of my rig tests for one of my game teams this semester. This is Barbara, she's a character for a future game that me and my team are planning to do. She's.. not supposed to be this springy of a maid... But I digress. The model was done by my good friend Zahra Haghiri, and I rigged and skinned it.

The rig I used was a customized version of the AB Autorig popularly used in game engines. I customized extra features in the rig, like the purse's move-ability the apron's swinging, the boob's individual bounce, the earrings, the cheeks, the eye blinking, and the flower petals behind it (not seen above)

[ANI300] - Mind The Gap Animation: Third Pass

My polished pass for the mind-the-gap animation. In it, my character pretty much slams into a pole. There are still some visible flaws, but I'm happy with the way it is for now. : D I regrettably didn't post the second pass, because I ran out of time. This should hopefully cover for it.

[ANI300] - Mind the Gap: Planning

Planning for my next animation - minding "the gap". This is more of a take on how a character would solve a particular problem. I had a problem choosing an ending, but my professor stopped me near the end, because the knee controllers on the class rig would prove an issue.

[CG399] - Snake-Whale is in 3D

My current dynamesh sculpt for CG399 - Advanced Character Creation in ZBrush Class. I’ll need to research on things that would increase it’s believability, like battle scars, whale skin, and anatomical whale appendages so people could discern it with an actual whale.

[ANI300] - Walk in 3D Space - 1st Polish Pass

I did a first polish pass on my character's walk. There are minor fixes I'm planning to do during the thanksgiving break, it could be something I could bring into my portfolio.

[ANI300] - Walk in 3D Space - Blocking In

My next assignment for my ANI300 class, we’re supposed to do a walk in 3D. I decided to do a very energetic and rhythmic walk. Will probably continue to refine the walk over the next few days.

[ART450] - Business Card Ideas

I designed some business cards this week for Portfolio class, (my girlfriend helped with 7 of these ideas since she’s in Graphic Design). Which one do you guys like?

[Team Crow's Eye] - Crow Flight WIP

Sharing some stuff from my game team. I did the rigging (adding joints and skinning) and animated the bird in flight. Took me about 4-6 hours I believe for the entire thing. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m pretty proud of it. I decided to rig myself instead of using custom rigs, in order to better understand the rigging process in Maya.

The crow itself was modelled by Anne Feeny.

[CG399] - Snake Whale Update!

Worked on my snake whale today, decided to put a sort of environment on the background. Was gonna add a whole floating city, but I didn't have time : (. I'll post orthographics by the end of the day.

[ANI300] - Posing in 3D

I have also decided that I want to go into animation a lot more in-depth this year, because of my lack of experience in 3D Animation. For my first assignment, my professor has assigned each of us an emotion, and we're supposed to do the assigned emotion, a balanced pose, and also an observational drawing. I believe I might have went a lot more out of-scale than the Lars Rig, the rig we've been assigned to use, so that's to be expected.

I also gestured with the movement of the rig in mind, not about what an actual human being would. Not knowing that there are rigs that could stretch and bend like an actual human's, if I had known this, I probably would have gestured a lot more smoothly and clearly in mind.

[CG399] - The Snake Whale!!!

So, since my post last week, I decided on the snake-whale-ish creature that I sketched out last week. Ultimately, because it was an actual CREATURE (Sorry shrimp chair!!!), I decided on this lovely thing. I drew out a lot of ideas about the whale, as if I'm some sort of biologist, and now I get to choose (again) between the usage of the whale, may it be for transportation or for war. I also have to think about the poly budget of the model I'm going to do based on the whale. Next week, I'll have to do a colored render of the whale, so stay tuned!

[CG399] Advanced Character Sculpting

Yay! For this Fall, I get to do zbrush sculpts of creatures again! This time, the only requirement I had to do was that the creatures were floating. I decided to do some aquatic creatures and mechanics (levitation by electromagnetism). For some reason, people chose my shrimp chair, my snake-whale, and my zombie robot.
